Many of my peri or menopausal clients are looking for weight loss. My approach is anti-diet, and it is a big challenge for my clients to forget their dieting rules. Diet culture and rules may have been ingrained in them since childhood, often beginning with watching their female family members diet.

It is hard to let this go, yet it needs to be done to lose the weight for good.  Diets do not work for life-long weight loss.  You can read more on this here and here.

So I have written an article for Menopause Matters on how I think we can start to move away from that dieting mindset, to a different approach that is intended for the rest of our lives.
